HAMILTON LAWN TENNIS CLUB
A SUCCESSFUL SEASON Thers was a good attendance of members at the annual meeting of the Hamilton Lawn Tennis Club on Tuesday night. The executive reported that the season had closed with an active membership of 161, and 49 school players. The 16 courts had played extremely well, and, as usual, had lasted in excellent condition right through the season. The Easter tournament had drawn entries from all over the province, and owing to the extra wear entailed the executive recommended that four of tlie courts which had been regrassed should be closed for the early part of the season. It was anticipated that the adoption of the Summer Time Bill would result in an influx of members, and the incoming executive might be compelled to reconsider the position if this overtaxed the accommodation available. During the year 50 school players had taken advantage of liberal terms to use the courts during the week, and this was likely to be an important feature of the club’s activities. During the year the executive had considered special arrangements for week-day play for the members of the staff of business houses. The difficulty in this case had been to arrange a suitable time, but the Summer Time Bill would apparently make the proposal practicable. The incoming executive was instructed to fix the opening day as soon as weather conditions permitted.
The following officers were elected: President, Mr. Seymour; vice-presi-dents, Messrs. W. G. Fabling arid R. D. McFarlane; committee. Misses Frankham, Eggleston and Madeley, Messrs. Stubbs, Seddon, Colvin, Caro, McCracken, and Leys; treasurer, Mr. L. Champion; secretary, Mr. G. Stevenson.
