Second Benefit for Snowshoe

STILL WELL-HANDICAPPED PAYS WONDERFUL PRICE Snowshoe had a second benefit at the Melbourne Trotting Club •meeting recently. He again won the Richmond Handicap. Handicapped to do 4m in SSsec. he won with ease in 4min 44sec- so did himself no harm with the handieapper. and looks like winning more Richmond Handicaps. A couple, of years ago in New Zealand. Snowshoe won the King George £I,OOO Handicap, covering the two miles in 4min 26 2-ssec. Billy Tomkinson had two engaged in the race, Snowshoe and Realm, driving Snowshoe himself, and giving Peter Riddle the drive behind Realm. Snowshoe was on 60 behind, and Realm on 72. Snowshoe beat Realm by a length in 4min 26 2-ssec, Realm’s time being 4min 25 3-ssec. The strange feature about Snowshoe’s second Richmond win was that backers allowed him to pay a wonderful dividend.
