HIS CROWNING SUCCESS

THE star performer among the square-gaited fraternity which took part in the fixture at Petone last week-end was Moneyspider, who came over the concluding stages of the big twomile handicap with a wonderful burst of speed to silence his strapped-up opponents. The Oakhampton trotting representative was a good stake earner for owner-trainer Bryce last season, his cheque amounting to £1,370, which was the result of three firsts, five seconds and three thirds. Two of the victories were gained over the hoppled brigade in a masterly manner. Moneyspider opened the new season with a win on the concluding day of the recent National Carnival, after finishing second to Peter Swift on the opening day, when the pair of solid trotters kept the pacers out of the major portion of the prize money. His crowning success on Saturday stamps “Scotty's representative as a real good one.
