PAPATOETOE TENNIS CLUB

DELIGHTFUL BALL A gay throng of members and friends of the Papatoetoe Tennis Club gathered at the Papatoetoe Town Hail last evening on the occasion of the club’s ball, and many visitors from neighbouring clubs were present. The hall had been daintily decorated, and presented a very pretty setting for the gay crowd. A cobweblike canopy of black and red streamers covered the entire ceiling, with dainty floating streamers adding their bright colours to the room. Clusters of feathery bamboo decked along the wall formed an effective background for a wealth of arum lilies. The stage,' arranged as a lounge, looked invitingly restful and pretty, laden with masses of arum lilies interspersed with bamboos and other greenery. The duties of M.C.’s were carried out by Messrs. R. G. Ross and E. H. BLirnside.

A very dainty supper was served by members of the club, after which Miss Ray Stonex and Mrs. S. Brooke played a couple of pleasing extras.
