TAUMARUNUI CHOIR

A FAREWELL FUNCTION Mrs. B. Young, who has been a member of the Taumarunui Presbyterian Choir during her several years’ stay in the town, was the guest of the choir at the residence of the choirmaster, Mr. W. Thompson, when she was given a social evening as a farewell by her fellow-choristers prior to the departure of herself and family for Australia. A delightful time was spent by everyone, and an excellent programme of vocal and instrumental items, games and competitions kept all going merrily.

The Rev. J. McCaw, on behalf of the choir, presented Mrs. Young with a. set of silver spoons, and expressed the hope that her family and herself would find every success and happiness in their new sphere of duty. The hostess, Mrs. Thompson, assisted by the ladies present, dispensed a. dainty supper, and the gathering closed with the customary felicitations.
