Fat Sheep.—A sma ler entry included a truck lot of the first shorn sheep of the season, a line from the Feilding district. There was an aveiage advance of 2s a head on last week’s rates. The shorn sheep averaged 39s lid. The number of ewes forwa.rd was small and they sold up to 455. Extra prime wethers made up to 54s Id; prime wethers, 45s 6d to 49s 6d; medium wethers, 38s to 455; light wethers 30s to 375; extra prime ewes, 42s to 4os lOd; prime ewes, 37s to 41s; medium ewes, 31s to 365; light ewes, 25s to o0s: prime, hoggets, 3Ss to 47s 7d; ordinf'JT hoggets, 32s to 375; light hoggets. 25s to 30s.
• F , at , Cattle.—A small entry of 460 head included over 100 from South Otago and Southland. No North Island cattle were offered. There was a steady sale for good beef, but an easing in price for second quality. Good beef made from 43s to 46s 6d a 1001 b: special, to 48s; medium, 40s to 42s 6d; inferior. 32s 6d to 38s; extra prime heavy bullocks realised up to £2l 17s 6d; prime heavy steers, £l7 10s to £l9 10s; mediumweight steers, £l4 LOs to £l7; light steers, £lO 10s to £l4; extra prime heifers, £ls to £l7 2s 6d; prime heifers, £l2 15a to £l4 15s; medium heifers, £lO 10s to £l2 10s; light heifers, £8 to £lO ss; extra prime cows, to £l6 12s 6d; prime c6ws, £l2 10s to £l4 15s; medium cows, £lO to £l2 ss; light cows, £8 10s to £9 15s; aged cows, £6 15s to £7 15s. Veafers. — Best sorts to £9; others. £3 to £6 15s.
Store Cattle. —A line of three and fouryear steers made £10; cows, £2 5s to £5 ss.
Dairy Cattle. —There was a better sale with an advance in values Best second to fourth cslvers made £8 to £11; others, £4 to .£7 10s; springing heifers, £4 10s to £9.
Fat Pigs. —Baconers were firmer and porkers easier. Choppers realised £3 10s to £7 8s 6d; baconers, £3 5s to £4 12s 6d (average price a lb, 5Jd to 6£d): porkers, 43s to 62s (average price a lb, 7?.d to B£d).
Store Pigs. —Values were slightly easier but there was a good sale. Weaners made 15s tc 255; slips, best, 14s to 18s; others to 225; medium stores, 23s to 28s; large, 34s to 39s 6d.
