LABOUR JOURNAL.-—The Lord Mayor of Sydney announces that the petition for the winding-up of the newspaper "Labour Daily” has been withdrawn as the company’s cheque for a certain amount owing to the City Council has beea received. —A. and N.Z. FRENCH TENNIS TOUR. —The French tennis team, consisting of J. Borotra, J. Cochet and J. Brugnon, will arrive in Sydney on January 24. They will play in the Australian championships, finishing on February 4. The team vill also play in Melbourne and Adelaide; during February, and possibly in Perth early in March.—A. and N.Z. PILGRIMS TO MECCA. —Pilgrims to Mecca will in future travel in comfort. Flans have been completed to render the roads to Mecca suitable for motor-cars. A pump has been fixed over the sacred well at Zemzem to provide water. Concrete is required for extensive structural alterations to the mosque.—Sun. FLOODS IN MEXICO.—The relief train despatched by the Mexican Government to the flooded areas was not able to reach the sufferers in the Lerma Valley.
