SYDNEY WOOL SALES By Cable.—Press Association. —Copyright SYDNEY, Wednesday. The third series of wool sales in Sydney concluded to-day under keen competition from all sections. The market closed very firm, prices being: equal to the best rates of the week. Greasy Merino sold to 27d. The wholesale price of flour in Sydney has been increased by 10s to £l4 5s a ton. At the Melbourne hides sales to-day prices were unchanged except for lights, which declined one-eighth of a penny to one farthing.—A. and N.Z. DAIRY CO. PAYMENTS (From Our Own Correspondent.) DARGAVILLE, Wednesday. A pay-out for butter-fat amounting to £44,971 Is 2d was made by the Northern Wairoa Co-operative Dairy Co., Ltd., this week. Of this amount £38,406 17s lid represented a bonus payment on last season’s output, and £6,564 3s 3d was for this season’s August supply, made at the rate of Is 4d a lb. of butter-fat. The pay-out on the corresponding date last season was £20,661 10s 4d, made up of bonus, £16,324 18s 4d, and the August pay-out of £4,336 12s, at the rate of Is 5d per lb. The increased payments for the two periods amount to £24,309 10s lOd. The total payments made by the company this season, exclusive of the bonus, amount to £12,414 17s Id, against £9,363 19s 7d for the corresponding period last year. WAIKATO ACTIVITIES TE AWAMUTU, Wednesday. An advance payment at the rate of Is 6d a lb. for finest butter-fat has been paid by the Te Awamutu Co-operative Dairy Co. for August. The company’s output for this season to date is 37 per cent, in advance of that for the corresponding period of last year. The Raglan Co-operative Dairy Co., Ltd., will make an advance payment at the rate of Is 5d a lb. for all superfine butter-fat supplied during August. Butter manufactured to date this season shows an increase of 60 per cent, over the quantity manufactured during the corresponding period of last year.
