BRIDGING THE MOTU

BIG UNDERTAKING Strenuous efforts have been made for years by various local bodies and also the Bay of Plenty Development League, to have the Motu River bridged. Efforts have at last been crowned with success. The following telegram has been received by Mr. T. Pearson from Mr. Clinkard, secretary of the Bay of Plenty Development League;—“Minister advises that tenders are now being called for Motu Bridge.” It is expected that the bridge will cost between £20,000 and £30,000, and its length will be over a-quarter of a mile. •
