OPENING DATE FIXED “There were about 29 members present at the annual meeting of the Papakura Tennis Club. Mr. J. McColl presided. The report showed a credit balance of £ 35. The new officers elected were: Patron, Mr. E. D. McLennan, M.P.; president, Mr. Jas. McColl; vLce-presidents, Messrs. J. E. Elliott, A. H. McLennan, W. A. Pavitt, and Rev. W. C. Wood; secretary, Mr. E. I. J. Busing; treasurer, Mr. V. Cole; auditor, Mr. C. S Beechey; .general committee, Messrs McDonald, S. N. Gleeson, T. McLennan, Sutton, G. Henderson, and Perry, Mrs. Bilkey, Mrs. W. A. Pavitt, Mrs. Busins, Misses McLennan, Wilkins, and Arbuckle; ground committee:, Messrs. Perry, Pavitt, and McDonald; selection committee, Messrs. Gleeson, Pavitt, and Mrs. Bilkey; captain, Mr. McDonald; delegates to the Manuka a Dawn Tennis Association, Messrs. McDonald and Gleeson. The opening day was fixed for Saturday, October 15, the ceremony to be performed by Mr. Jas McCall. The secretary reported that the courts had been relaid, and proved satisfactory. The liabilities ol i2O incurred last season had been wiped off. The membership was 2o men and 35 women, 60 all told. ,
