FUTURE PROSPECTS BRIGHT There was a good attendance at the annual meeting of the Richmond Cruia- 9 ing Club last evening. The report stated that the past season had been a successful one. Good entries had been attracted by tne regatta, no fewer than 55 boats taking part. In addition to the regatta four other racing fixtures were held. The club recorded with regret the death of Messrs. G. Tanner, A. Saunders, and F. Swinbourne, members of the club.
The balance sheet disclosed a cred of £24. Receipts included £3O front donations and dinghy rents, and £43 from subscriptions and entrance fees. The principal item of expenditure was £ 66 for cash prizes and trophies. Moving the adoption of the report and balance sheet, the Commodore, Mr.
T. L. Thompson, said It was pleasing to be able to carry forward a credit balance as the club did not derive any revenue from social efforts. The prospects for the coming season were very bright. The president: of the club, Mr. J. Donald, paid a tribute to the excellent work done by the commodore and secretary, on behalf of the club during the past year. The election of officers resulted' Patron, Mr. W. J. Holdsworth; president, Mr. J. Donald; vice-presidents, same as last year; commodore, Mr. T. L. Thompson; vice-commodore, Mr. G. Smith; rear-commodore, Mr. R. Judd; treasurer, Mr. F. Downs; secretary, Mr. J. Longbottom; delegates to Auckland Yacht and Motor-Boat Association, Messrs. F. Downs and O. Goodwin; committee, Messrs. T. Bell, O. Goodwin, C. Brown, R. Judd. V. Riley. G. Humby, E. Hay, L Dennis, E. Wheaton, and R. Hammond: sailing committee, Messrs. O. Goodwin, F. Downs, R. Judd. T. Bell and V. RileyThe annual subscription was fixed at the same as last year. Messrs. W. A. Wilkinson and G. L. Laycock were elected honorary members of the club in recognition of services rendered. ■ The club will hold a sweepsta ke race for all centreboard classes on Labour Day.
