EXHIBITION OF MODELS

ENGINEERS’ DISPLAY The Auckland Society of Model ind Experimental Engineers held an exhibition tn Saturday evening in Messrs. J. A. Lawler and Company’s garage. Over :75 exhibitors and guests inspected the models on display during the evening. Officials of the society state that the show* was :he best ever seen in Auck - land, both for the number of entries and the high standard of the exhibits. Skill and patience are shown in every detail of the numerous models. The best exhil» t was the railway engine built by Mi*. C. T Jonas, of Dominion. Road, which has taken three years tc make and is valued at over £'2oo. It stands only 11 inches high, is 4ft. fin. long and cen can*:’- four adults. Other models on exhibition included: Two American type locomotives made by Mr. Poikinghc rne; stationary engines, Messrs. Stuart Holmes and Reston; battleships, Messrs. Attwcil and Eastmuir; locomotive, Mr. De Trust; telescope, Mr. R. Bruce; milltype engine and boiler, Mr. Macklcy; marine engine, Mr. Moren; L.N.W R. tank engine and Urplane engine, Mr. H. A. Divison; tmetion engine, Mr. J. J. Graham: early sailing ship in beaten copper, Mr. Attweil; N.Z. railway Link engine and rolling stock, Messrs. F. and G. Roberts. During the evening films of Grey and Menzies’s cordial factory and the manufacture of typewriters, Ford cars and steel mules were shown.
