Last year there were 35 boys and 36 girls in the home. The children attend the Manurewa School, and Sunday School is held at the home. HELPING THE HOME Manurewa residents display a kindly and practical interest in the work, and there are also numbers of visitors and helpers from further afield. Last year the actual running expenses ©f the institution tot* .lied £2,517 17s 4d, and the excess of income was £492 7s Id. after allowing £307 3s »d for depreciation. Several smaller funds show credit balances. More than 1,000 people or firms gave subscriptions totalling £1,241 last >6ar ' ANNUAL CONCEKT Each year the children from the home give a concert in the Town Hall. This year the concert will be given on Thursday evening next, and 50 of the children will take part.
