SLIGHT INCREASE IN UNEMPLOYMENT

According to figrures supplied by the Labour Bureau this morning there is a slight increase in the number of unemployed, this week’s total being 716, compared with 699 last week. Men fit for heavy work number 576, against 555, and men suitable for only light work total 140, compared with 144 last week. Those placed in employment during the period number 64, compared with 36 :;or the week ending September 10.
