Mr. L. A. Mander, who for the past fve years has been director of the tutorial classes of the Workers’ Educational Association, was met yesterday by colleagues of the League of Nations Union and presented with a gold watch and chain. Mr. Mander is leaving Mew Zealand to become assistantprofessor in the School of Political Science in Washington University.

Mr. J. Zachariah, accountant to the Auckland branch of the Australian Provincial Assurance Association, has been promoted to the New Zealand head office in Wellington. He will take over the position occupied by Mr. H. E. Biden, resident secretary to the company who is being transferred to Sydney. This is part of the scheme for centralisation, whereby most of the business will be carried on through
