TIVOLI

“THE PRIMROSE PATH” Thrills and romance, laughter and tears are provided in “The Primrose Path,” the Arrow picture which is now being shown at the Tivoli Theatre. The settings of the story range from the glamorous glitter of a fashionable cafe to a tramp steamer at sea. No expense was spared which would add to the realism of the picture. Immense sets were erected, it is said, for the cafe sequences while the entire company journeyed to a Pacific seaport town for the ocean and steamer shots. Absolute faithfulness of detail is said to mark the courtroom scenes of the story, another gripping sequence.

Clara Bow and Wallace MacDonald play the leading roles in an all-star cast. This combination has been responsible for some excellent characterisations in the immediate past, and in “The Primrose Path” they are said to be at their best. Wallace MacDonald has played heavy roles in many of his past pictures, but this one he is cast in the leading role. As Marilyn Merrill, the cafe dancer, Clara Bow has opportunities for a pleasing and sympathetic characterisation.

Others in the cast are Stuart Holmes, Tom Santschi, Arline Pretty, Pat Moore, Mike Donlin and Ludia Knott.
