STRANGE STREET SIEGE
TURKS FIGHT POLICE Sj Cable.—Press Association. —Copyright CONSTANTINOPLE, Thursday. A mysterious street siege was witnessed at Pera, a suburb of Constantinople. A party of police surrounded ii house and demanded the surrender of four men who w’ere suspected of lieing concerned in a conspiracy, the latoie of which has not been disclosed. The men replied with shots. They hilled aoi officer and seriously wounded iwo others. Sharp fighting followed, in the course of which the conspirators were hilled:. A large quantity of arms was discovered in the house, indicating loaf an important movement was in Progress.—A. and N.Z.
