YOUNG ATALANTA ON THE PLAYING FIELD
INTER-HOUSE SPORTS
ANNUAL TOURNAMENT Many hundreds of people will remember that animated and kaleidoscopic scene at Carlaw l ark last year, when teams of skirls from the various soft goods business houses took part in an inter-house sports tournament. Something similar will be held again this year on Novemoer 12. Girls in the soft goods business houses, who will take part in this year’s tournament of the Auckland Inter-house Girls’ Sports Association, are enthusiastically training for the meeting. Nearly 300 girls assembled at the Drill Hall on Wednesday evening, when Lieutenant T. P. Laffey explained methods in connection with the preliminary manoeuvres of the grand military march, an event that creates great interest and keen competition each year, and for which a valuable cup is presented by local warehouses. An interesting programme has been arranged for the tournament, which will be the fourth to be held under the auspices of the Auckland Interliouse Girls’ Sports Association.
