TENDERS FOR KHYBER PASS RESERVOIR
PLANS COMPLETED SPOIL FOR SHORE ROAD Tenders will be called shortly for the building of the new reservoir in Khyber Pass, and for the reconstruction of the old reservoir. Plans and specifications were approved by the City Council last evening. Loan proposals, already passed, provide for the work, the total expenditure on new works, land, etc., being £60,000. The new work will double the capacity of the present reservoir, and will add the new one in preparation for the increased supply from the watersheds. Spoil is to go to Shore Hoad. This point was questioned by Cr. Entrican, who said that the proper place for this spoil was Belgium Street extension proposal, which he had no doubt the committee would adopt in a few weeks’ time. Air. W. E. Bush, engineer, said he had to have spoil, for Shore Road, and if any was wanted for Belgium Street the reconstruction of the old reservoir
