TECHNICAL COLLEGE
ELECTION OF CHAIRMAN SCHOOL HEATING PROPOSAL Mr. H. S. W. King, chairman of the Board of Managers of the Seddon Memorial Technical College for the last five years, was re-elected to the position for the ensuing year, at a meeting of the board yesterday. Mr. A. Burt was elected deputychairman. In a report, the principal, Mr. G. J. Park, asked the board to consider the provision of heating for the college classrooms. During the winter months, said Mr. Park, tho low temperature in the classrooms was a serious hindrance to efficiency. Tho number of young women attending evening classes was remarkably small, and considering that the concrete floors of the building were non: covered, the need for some warming system was. obvious. He advocated heating by hot water radiators. The cost would probably be about £2.000, but he considered that the board should confer w ith the Education Department with the view to obtaining financial assistance. He pointed out that technical colleges in other largp centres were •quipped with heaters. Members expressed approval of Mr. Park’s proposals, wTiich were referred to the executive committee for further consideration.
