ANTI-JAPANESE RIOTS AT MUKDEN
PROTEST FROM TOKIO NO REPRESSIVE MEASURES By Cable.—Press Association. —Copyright SHANGHAI, Tuesday. Notwithstanding the persistent antiJapanese agitation in Mukden, culminating in an assault upon a Japanese policeman toy Chinese, and also the tearing down of a Japanese flag on the occasion of the celebration of the birth of the princess, the army authorities at Tokio have decided to follow the policy hitherto adopted, and take no repressive measures, depending upon the authority of Marshal Chang-Tso-Lin. They have presented a strong protest to Peking.—A. and N.Z.
