LATE MR. H. R. WATHEN

Mr. Herbert Reginald Wathen, who died at his home at Riverhead yesterday at the age *Df 74, was one of the original scholars of Malvern College, England, which was founded 62 years ago. The eldest son of the Rev. J. Wathen. Mr. Wahten was born at Guarlford, England. After a period in the Indian Public Service, he came to New Zealand over 25 years ago and lived for many years in the Waihi and Rotorua districts. Ten years ago he settled at Riverhead. Mr. Wathen is survived by his wife and two sons. Mr. J. Wathen and Mr. S. "Wathen.
