CHIEF STEWARD LOST OVERBOARD

TRAGEDY ON S.S. TREWORLAS The chief steward of the steamen Treworlas, which arrived at Auckland yesterday from New York, Mr. W. Morgan, was lost overboard in the Pacific 500 miles from Panama. Mr. Morgan was seen to clamber on to the bulwarks about 6 o’clock one evening, and before he could be prevented he fell into the sea. A boat was launched, but although a search was made for nearly two hours he was not seen again. Mr. Morgan was a married man, 43 years of age, and his home was in Cardiff. He leaves a widow and one child.
