Otahuhu Schoolboys and League Football
Mr. H. Murdoch, headmaster of the Otahuhu District School, writes: In your issue of September 9 appears a championship table: League football, Primary Schools, together with a statement that Otahuhu School had won the championship. The above statement is not only misleading, but is contrary to fact. 1. No team from this school i« playing League football. 2. The team credited with the championship contains several players from this school who played the game last year, and, in addition, players from Otahuhu Convent School, Mangere East School and Marist Brothers’ School, Auckland. This combined team is made up as follows: —Otahuhu School 6. Otahuhu Convent 4, Mangere East School 2, Marist Brothers’ School. Auckland, 1. 3. This school still adheres to the Rugby code, and during the year has had two teams in the Primary Schools’ Rugby Competition.
