WAIKATO RACING CLUE
OCTOBER FIXTURE AN ATTRACTIVE CARD The programme for the 1927 spring fixture of the Waikato Racing Club, as published in THE SUN to-day, is based on the usually attractive style of this popular racing organisation. The fixture will eventuate on October 21 and 22 on the club’s Te Rapa course, and eight items of interest are carded each day. The principal events on the opening day are the Waikato Cup, of <£6so, 14 miles; and Cambridge Handicap, of £4OO, of six furlongs. The Hamilton Handicap, of £ 500, ten furlongs, and Kirikiriroa Handicap, of £3OO, six furlongs, are the chief features on the second day. Hurdle horses and steeplechasers are catered for each day, while the card also includes a heat on both days for two-year-olds. Hacks are given plenty of scope, also, and altogether the programme issued is one that cannot fail to attract owners and the racing public. Entries for all events close with the secretary, Mr. B. H. O’Meara, Hamilton, on September 30. Nominations can also be placed with Messrs. Blomfield and Co., Auckland. MEETINGS JO COME September 8-10. —Wanganui J.C.
