INSURANCE OFFICERS’ BALL
A BRILLIANT FUNCTION The second annual ball of the Insurance Officers’ Benevolent Fund, held in the Scots Hall last evening - , was one of the outstanding social successes of the dancing season. An original note was struck in the decorative scheme, which was carried out with long trails of wistaria blossoms. Balloons and streamers were showered down on the dancers by a silver airship suspended from the ceiling. Palms and potted shrubs made the various lounges delightfully cool and inviting. Gilt inscriptions round the panelled walls bore the names of all the insurance companies represented. Red and gold streamers were used very effectively for the supper-room. Claret cup and ices were served during the evening and were greatly appreciated. The Dixieland Famous Internationals, under the direction of Mr. C. E.
