DEPARTMENTAL ANALYSES In connection with the proposed water supply tor Huntly, the Town Board at its last meeting received a letter from the medical health officer, Dr. W. B. Mercer, that Inspector Thompson would take samples of water from Lake Kimihia and the Waikato River for analysis, at points near the proposed intakes, the cost being about £lO 10s. Mr. H. E. Holland, M.P., wrote assuring the board of his assistance to help break up the existing monopoly in the matter of film supplies. ♦ * * The Huntly Horticultural and Beautifying Society held a daffodil display on Monday evening in the library of the Town Hall. An excellent and well-arranged benching of blooms was staged, and was a pleasant surprise for visitors and enthusiasts alike. Growers indulged in profitable and interesting discussions, and the president, Mr. R. W. Fairhurst, secretary, .Mr, W. Ed gerly, and committee, are to be warmly commended.
