HAMILTON RUGBY NOTES AND COMMENTS
THE CLARK CUP The third round of the Clark Cup Rugby competition was played at Hamilton on Saturday, when Old Boys j had the narrow margin of one point ' over Technical Old Boys, winning by ill points to 10. i For Old Boys Brown (2) and Hawke ! scored tries, the latter converting one. j Robertson and Flyger scored for Teeh--1 nical Old Boys, Adams converting both tries. In the other Clarke Cup fixtures City accounted for Huntly by IS points to 3 and Frankton defeated Ngaruawahia by 14 points to 12. PRIMARY SCHOOLS By defeating Hamilton by six points to three in the A division on Saturday in the Primary Schools Rugby football competition for the Northern Roller Mills Shield, the Thames Valley team qualified to meet Auckland B, winners of the B division, in the final. The match was played at Rugby Park in the afternoon, and was closely contested. Auckland was a trifle unlucky at times and conceded much to its opponents by reason of the latter’s heavier team. Thames eventually won the match and the shield by 13 points to 9. ALL BLACK TRIAL On September 12 the four selectors for the Waikato. King Country, Bay of Plenty and Thames Valiev "Rugby Unions respectively meet at Hamilton to decide the personnel of the combined team to meet Auckland and North Auckland in the All Black trial. Every effort will be made to ensure that Waikato will have adequate representation in the team, and the claims for the selection of R. Kemp and W. Bayly, in addition to others, will probably be the first to be advanced. On September 21 the combined team winch is selected will play the rest of the Waikato. WAIKATO V. WAIRARAPA An important Rugby representative fixture will be played at Plamilton tomorrow, when the Waikato team meets a strong Wairarapa side. Early in the season Manawhenua, which Waikato recently defeated by 17 points to 9 defeated Wairarapa and the clash of the latter team with Waikato will ata large crowd of spectators on Wednesday. Waikato has played and won three representative fixtures to date this is ex P ected to perform well, and Wairarapa will not find them Proposition, although the risiting team will include the brilliant Cooke as centre, and All Black Harvey afi 'roun i The Wairarapa team is a good ali-i ound combination.
