THE PEACE CUP
GAMES FOR TROPHY HOLDERS SINCE 1921 The Peace Cup, which is at present in the possession of the Hamilton Rugby representative team, was won by Thames in 1921 and 1922. Hamilton then annexed and retained it for three years, losing it to Thames, which held it for the 1926 season. Early this year Hamilton was successful in wresting the trophy from the holders, and has since successfully defended it against four challenges, having defeated Morrinsville, Cambridge, Waipa and Pukekohe, the last-named going under on Saturday. There are probably two more challenges to be sustained before the Peace Cup can pass into the keeping of the Hamilton team for the ensuing year. The points registered by the Hamilton team in cup games this season are as follow: Hamilton, 12, v. Thames, 3. Hamilton, 3, v. Morrinsville, 0. Hamilton, 11, v. Cambridge, 6. Hamilton, 25, v. Waipa, 14. Hamilton, 43, v. Pukekohe, 11. THE POINTS GATHERERS Badeley, with a total of 27 points, tops the scoring list for the Hamilton Peace Cup so far, and he has obtained all these with his boot, the tally including one field goal. The team has scored 94 points and had 34 registered against it in five matches. Others with points to their credit are: Bayly, 9: H. Charleston, 9; Fitzgerald, 9; Snodgrass. 6: Scott, 6: Stubbs, 6: Tuck, 6; and Courtney, F. Buckingham, Clemett, Del Carter, W. Christie and Kemp, 3 .each.
