Mr. Culpan said that the £4OO would cover any loss against the matches in Auckland, and it was not understood whv financial assistance was sought elsewhere. Mr. Culpan stated he had. sent a cablegram asking what amount was required to induce the St. George team to come here, as all arrangements had been made for its visit.
