JILTED HIS FIANCEE FOR HER BRIDESMAID A young farmer who fell in love with his fiancee’s bridesmaid was sued by his‘former love at Newport, Monmouthshire. Counsel explained that the defendant,, Mr. "William Williams, of Red wick, who was 23, had arranged to marry Miss Olive Cook, of Magor, on June 29, after an engagement of four years. Mr. Williams’s step-niece, Miss Lilia Williams, came over from Canada to be a bridesmaid, arriving three weeks before the wedding day, and Mr. Williams at once fell in love with her. Counsel said the other girl had come into a substantial dowry, end it seemed that Mr. Williams had exercised a certain amount of foresight. Damages of £l5B were awarded to Miss Cook.
