DEATH FOLLOWS DISMISSAL

OLD MAN FOUND DROWNED (Special to THE SUN.) CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. James Heney, aged 65, was employed at the Rotherfield Hotel until a few days ago, when he was given notice because his employer wanted a younger man. On Wednesday afternoon he was found dead on New Brighton Beach. A verdict of found drowned was returned by the coroner, Mr. U. A. Young, at the inquest. Nelson Charles Price, horse trainer, said Heney called at his home at New Brighton last Monday. He was very dejected about “getting the sack,” but he did not blame the proprietor. He had no prospects of getting another job and complained of chest trouble. The deceased was a single man, with relatives in the Nelson district. He 1 was a witness in the Mouat case.
