A WIN FOR WELLINGTON

The schoolboys’ Association football tournament for the Webster Shield was concluded at Victoria Park yesterday and was won by Wellington. The match between Wellington and Manawatu was evenly contested during the first spell. After some good play among the Wellington forwards, Ongley scored a fine goal. Wellington held the advantage throughout the second half, but could not increase its score, and the match ended: Wellington 1. Manawatu 0. This victory gained for Wellington the shield.
