RECENT WEDDINGS
SUTHERLAND—NEILL
The marriage took place at St. Barnabas Church, Bunnytliorpe. recently, of Madge Monteith, daughter of Mr. P. Neill, of Auckland, and the late Mrs. Delia Neill, and grand-daughter of Mr. and -Mrs. Richardson, of Bunnvthorpe, to Ronald James, second son of the late Mr. J. Sutherland and Mrs. Sutherland, of Bunnytliorpe. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. F. M. Kempthorne, Miss Kathleen Richardson presiding at the organ. The church, which was decorated by girl friends with pink and white flowers, streamers, and a large wedding bell, was crpwded with guests from all parts of the district. The bride was given away by her father. She wore a frock of bright apricot georgette, with silver trimming, a veil of white and silver, with shoes to match. Her bouquet was of freesias, rosebuds and ferns. Miss Winnie Sutherland was the only | bridesmaid. She wore saxe blue crepe de chine, with silver lace and a bouquet of blue lupin and grape hyacihths. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr. E. Sutherland, the wellknown athlete. After the ceremony about 60 guests were entertained at the Town Hall, where a handsome wedding cake made by Mrs. R. Donald, aunt of the bride, and decorated by Miss Donald, of Palmerston North, was dispensed by the bride, and several toasts were given. A large number of beautiful presents were displayed. Hater Mr. and Mrs. Sutherland were given a very enthusiastic farewell at the Himited express. The honeymoon is being spent in Rotorua and Gisborne. The bride’s travelling dress was of green repp, with cloak and fox furs, the latter being the bridegroom’s gift. Their future home will be in Wellington.
