BEAUTIFYING HAMILTON
NEW RIVER TERRACE WORK FOR UNEMPLOYED (From Our Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, Thursday. A work of improvement which should add to the beauty of the river bank at Hamilton is being carried out at the end of Alma Street, overlooking the river, and the spot promises to, be transformed into a most attractive'one. Unemployment relief workers are engaged in stumping and cleaning operations and it is intended to remove a knoll at the top of the bank, which will be terraced down to the river Path. When the work is completed, a splendid view of the river will be afforded, and the point will be a vantage one in the summer. Concrete steps: v\;ill lead down from the end of the street, and the whole work is estimated to cost £3OO. The beautifying society will proceed with the planting of shrubs when the terrace formation has been completed.
