EARTH’S SURFACE
CRUST STILL SOLID By Cable. —Press Association.—Copyright LONDON, Wednesday. As a result of local observations it was feared that movements of the earth’s surface were taking place. In consequence observatories at Greenwich, in Australia. Paris, Berlin, America, Algiers and Shanghai began making observations in October by wireless time signals. Wireless of different wave-lengths was used. It was expected that the reception of these signals from three points on the same latitude, but eight hours apart in longitude, would accentuate any discrepancies. Greenwich observatory officials have now received data from all but three of the places, and it is shown conclusively that the earth’s crust has not moved a fraction. —Sun.
