WAIPU BOWLERS HAVE GOOD YEAR

At the annual meeting of the Waipu Bowling Club, the report showed a marked improvement in the club’s financial position. The past season had been a most encouraging one in every respect. The following officers were elected: President, Mr. A. Sentch; vicepresidents, Messrs. D. R. McKay, M. McLean, and H. McAulay; secretary and treasurer, Mr. E. Snaith; auditor, Mr. C. N. McLean; ground superintendent, Mr. N. McMillan: committee, Messrs. D. J. McLeod. D. H. McKenzie, W. Griffin. R. R. McKay, J. C. McKay, Canley McLean, C. Langliorne, N. E. McLean, and W. Moreland.

It was decided to apply for permission to hold a progressive pairs tournament on Boxing Day.

The following trophies were presented by Mr. D. R. McKay, the former president: Champion singles, A. Sentch; champion pairs, C. N. McLean and A. G. Shirley.
