COUNTRY SALES
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Company, Limited, reports holding sales during the week at Westfield, Papakura, Kaukapakapa and Whitford. Two clearing sales were also held. On account of E. W. Matins, Ngatea, dairy cows made to £22 10s.
The firm quotes:—Best dairy cows and heifers, £ll to £ls 10s; others £6 to £lO 10s; aged cows and inferior heifers, £2 10s to £5 10s; empty cows, £2 to £3 17s 6d; bulls, £3 3s to £l4 14s; yearling heifers, best, £3 7s 6d to £4 15s; others, £2 to £3 ss; yearling to 18months* steers, £2 10s to £4 7s 6d; 2 to 2J-year steers, £4 10s to £5 7s 6d; 3 to 3i-year steers, £5 10s to £6 7s 6d; 4 to 41-year steers, £6 10s to £7 2s 6d; grown steers in forward condition, £7 5s to £8 7s 6d.
