FLOODS IN THE SUBURBS
DRAINAGE INCOMPLETE DEPUTATION TO BOARD Flooding has become a serious difficulty in Edendale and Mount Albert owing to the incomplete state of the drainage system. A deputation representing the boroughs of Mount Albert and Mount Eden urged the Auckland and Suburban Drainage Board last evening to push forward the Meola Creek improvement work. The new section of sewer from Mount Eden boundary could not be used until the creek had been widened. The position in Edendale was very serious and in support of their point the deputations produced photographs of houses flooded amost to the window sills. The district was becoming so sodden that buildings could not be gone on with. _ , . , , The chairman, Mr. G. Baildon, stated that the engineer expected to have plans for the work finished in six weeks or two months.
