CHILD’S LONG WALK Shortly after noon the other Mr. A. J. Morris, of Hukuroa Road, R&etihi, missed his infant son, two and a-half years. The child had playing in the vicinity of the house shortly before, but had disappeared A thorough search of the immediate locality failed to reveal the child, and Inquiries were sent further afield. A oo&rch of practically the whole town resulted in failure, and the anxiety of Jhe parents grew as the hours fled by. At last, about 5.30 p.m., while some Workmen were returning home on the valley Road, about three and a-half from town, the child attracted r* eir attention by its cries. They bought the little fellow back to town, a °d aii all the residents were on the oui vive, it was not long before it JJJJ® returned to its anxious parents *ktle the worse for its startling ventureThere is a great deal of speculation J 8 10 how a child so young could cover 0 great a distance in the time.
