ST. MARK’S FLOWER SHOW
LARGE ENTRIES RECORDED There were record entries for the flower show held by the St. Mark’s Ladies’ Guild in the St. Mark’s Hall Remuera, yesterday. In the decorated tables class there were 16 entries, an extra prize for daffodils only having to be awarded. A large number of flowers and plants were sold at the conclusion of the show. The following prizes were awarded: DECORATED CLASSES Decorated Table, all comers: Miss Tolhurst, 1; Mrs. Park, 2. Decorated table, daffodils only: Mrs. Thompson, 1. Decorated table, for those who have never won a prize at St. Mark’s: Mrs. Morley Bell, 1; Miss Cutfield, 2. Decorated bowl, mixed flowers, Miss Cutfield, 1; Miss L. Towle, 2; Miss Somerville, 3. Decorated bowl, daffodils only: Miss Tolhurst, 1; Mrs. Millar, 2. OTHER CLASSES Posy, children over 12: Mollie Park, 1; Zoe Millar, 2; Barbara Aicken, 3; highly commended, Josephine Tolhurst. Posy, children under 12: Jocelyn Hesketh, 1; Maud Bailey, 2; Owen Hill, 3. Collection, six varieties, spring flowers: Mrs. H. B. J. Bull, 1; Miss Bull, 2; Mrs. Weir. 3; highly commended, Mrs. Tonks. Bunch of 75 violets: Mr. O. Wilson, 1. Bunch of primroses and/or polyanthus: Mrs. McCallum and Mr. C. Edgerley, equal, 1; Mrs. Tonks, 2. Three varieties anemones: Miss Morton, 1: Mr. C. Edgerley, 2. Nine varieties narcissi, 1 bloom each: Mr. O. Wilson, 1. Three varieties, 3 blooms each: Mrs. Mac Murray, 1; Mr. O. Wilson, 2. Three varieties, 3 blooms each, novice: Mrs. Kent, 1.
