THIS WEEK’S RUGBY REP. TEAMS
(From Our Own Correspondent.) TAUMARUNUI, Tuesday. The Wairarapa representative Rugby team arrived here last night, and plays King Country to-morrow. Cooke and Harvey, All Blacks, are included in the team, but Q. Donald, Irving, J. Donald, Lambert and Roach are not available. However, these four players will proceed to Auckland later in the week in order to take part in the match against Auckland on Saturday. Keen interest is being taken in tomorrow’s match, but the weather at present is unpromising. The teams are as followsWairarapa. —Backs. LeQuesne, R. Booth, R. TO DEFEND SHIELD PALMERSTON NORTH, Tuesday. The following Manawhenua team will defend the Ranfurly Shield against Taranaki to-morrow: Fullback, Brophy; three-quarters, Roberts, Hunt and McDonald: five-eighths, Goldfinch and Mullins: half, W. Parata; rover, Jacobs; forwards, Anderson. Tremewan, Payne, Galpin, Crawford, Heatley, Miles. OTAGO TOURING TEAM McClymont and Roy Callender (backs) are unable to accompany the Otago Rugby team, which is to leave on Thursday on its Northern tour. Their places will be taken by Ron. Callender and Wilson.
WAIPA JUNIOR REPS. TE AWAMUTU, Tuesday. The Waipa junior Rugby representative team to play Auckland University Colts at Te Awamutu on Saturday will be selected from the following, most of whom recently visited Auckland to play a team from the Eden Club:—Foley, Clarke, Belme, Gregory, Pollard, Glasgow, Grace, Owens, Taylor, F. Jackson, Skinner, Johnston, Hagen, Murray, Brill, G. Cruickshank. Parish. Murray. WAIHI v. AUCKLAND UNIVERSITY WAIHI. Tuesday. The Auckland touring Rugby team arrived at Opotiki to-'dav in pouring rain, which compelled the postponement of the match with Opotiki and Apanui until to-morrow. THAMES VALLEY TEAM TO PLAY WAIKATO.
