LENA SALVAGED

SCOW TO BE REPAIRED

The auxiliary scow Lena, which turned turle in the Firth of Thames last Friday afternoon, has been salvaged by Captain IT. A. Kasper and his party, which left Colville on Saturday in search of the derelict.

The vessel was found the same evening off Cape Colville, but great difficulty was experienced in towing her to port. Owing to the limited power of the launch and the submerged condition of the scow, it was only possible to tow with the help of the flood tide. When the tide began ebbing the vessels hd to anchor until the tide turned.

Colville was reached yesterday afternoon and the Lena was hauled on to the beach, where she is being temporarily repaired before being brought to Auckland.
