SOCCER FOR SCHOOLBOYS

INTERFERENCE BY MASTER A POVERTY BAY COMPLAINT Press Association. WELLINGTON, Friday. Strong comment was made at a meeting of the council of the New Zealand Football Association last evening, when a report was received from the Poverty Bay Association that the playing of Association football by schoolboys was being interfered with by a master of one of the schools. Mr. Varney mentioned that Otago had asked the council to take up the same matter some time ago, but as the Southern association’s evidence had not been collected, the council was j asked to hold the matter over for | a while. Members expressed indignation at the action of the Gisborne master, and were of the opinion that the council now had a case to take before the education authorities. It was decided that Messrs. Varney and F.enai interview fh«T director of education.
