MAXIM BRODI CONCERT
SUNDAY AT NEW REGENT To-morrow evening a concert, organised by Mr. Maxim Brodi, will be held at the New Regent, part of the proceeds going to the Auckland Zionist Association. It will be the last appearance of Maxim Brodi in New Zealand. He will sing items from the following:—“Song of the Volga Boatmen,” “Lungi Del Caro,” “Wherever You Walk,” “Dia Campi,” “Don Juan Serenado,” “Toselli Serena to,” O Vision Entrancing.” “Bird Songs of Eventide.” “Jewish Lament,” “Avo Maria” (Gounod). Mr. Brodi will be assisted by Miss Isobel Langlands, the brilliant violiniste, who will play “Die Yiddische Traern” (J. Cherniavsky) and “Saltarelle,” by Edward German; Miss Etta Field, the popular Auckland soprano (Mareschoni’s “Ave Maria,” and the Aria from “Cavalieria Rustic-ana”), and Mr. Francis Bate, the well-known cellist. Mr. Eric Waters and Miss L. Quinn will act as accompanists. Preceding this concert there will be a special screening of “Young Judea, Palestine in 1926,” a film showing the romance of the rebirth of the Jewish nation. The Moore Sisters (piano, violin and cello) will render special musical accompaniment to this picture. The programme will commence at 7.45 p.m. sharp. In order that children may have an opportunity of seeing this interesting picture, a special screening- for children up to the age of 14, will be given in the theatre, commencing at 3.30 p.m. Admission will be by silver coin.
