Auckland Ladies’ Club In a semi-final in the Auckland Ladies’ Club championship at Middlemore yesterday Miss F. Rathbone beat Mrs. Dufaur by the large margin of 5 up and 4, by playing excellent golf. Miss Rathbone was 3 up at the seventh. The next was halved in bogey, and Mrs. Dufaur played a bright 4 to reduce the lead by one at the ninth. Three of the next four were won by Miss Rathbone, and she won the match at the fourteenth. On Tuesday Miss Rathbone will meet Miss E. Culling in the final of the senior events, and Mrs. W. P. Endean and Mrs. D. Gorrie will meet in the junior final. Hamilton Ladies The finals of the Hamilton Ladles’ Golf Club championships were decided at St. Andrew’s links yesterday afternoon. Playing conditions were good, although there was a slight breeze. The senior title was annexed by Mrs. Coyne, who defeated Mrs. Mander five up and four to play. The latter was obviously not at her best and was suffering from a severe cold, play ending at the 14th hole. The game was interesting throughout, although at the 11th Mrs. Coyne was four up. Mrs. Coyne took the first and the next four holes were halved in five. Mrs. Mander failed at the sixth and lost the next, while the following three holes were halved. Mrs. Coyne won the 11th and 12th. while the 13th and 14th were halved, Mrs. Mander failing to win one hole in the match. The following card was returned:— Mrs. Coyne.—Out: 3. 5. 5. 5,5, 5,7, 6, 6. Mrs. Bond finally defeating Mrs. Grut four up and three to play. In the Douglas Cup final, decided on handicap match play, Miss Dawson defeated Miss McKenzie two up and one to play in a good game. West Coast Titles GREYMOUTH, Friday. The West Coast golf championships were concluded to-day on the Mahinapua links. In the men’s final A. Choxney (Hokitika) beat W. McCarthy (Greymouth). 1 up. In the ladies’ final Mrs. Slee (Westport) beat Mrs. Hannan (Greymouth). 4 and 3.
