BATHING FACILITIES

POINT CHEVALIER BEACHES COMMITTEE TO REPORT An inquiry was made to the Mayor, Mr. G. Baildon, this morning as to what the City Council intends to do at Point Chevalier, now that the council has been granted an injunction which prevents private enterprise erecting baths on the beach. The Mayor stated that the position was being considered by the Baths Committee, and would shortly come before the council. The City Engineer was asked some time ago to prepare a report on the beaches and their facilities, and this has now been placed before the Baths Committee. It is the intention of the members of the committee to inspect the- various beaches before recommending to the council what improvements are immediately desirable, and a full report on the subject should come before tbe council, probably at its meeting in three weeks’ time.
