GREEN LANE CHARGE
Wide and varied have been the experiences of the Rev. A. W. McMillan, who will take over the ministry of Green Lane Congregational Church on Sunday. The Rev. Ivan Stebbins having left by the Aorangi to return to Australia after two and a-half years as minister of the church, Mr. McMillan’s offer to serve the church as acting-min-ister for five or six months has been Mr. McMillan spent many years in the Benares district of North India under the auspices of the London Missionary Societv. During the war he was organising secretary for the Y.M.C.A. among Indian troops on the Western front, and was twice “mentioned in dispatches.” He arrived from Fiji by the Aorangi about a fortnight ago, where for three years he has represented the New Zealand Y.M.C.A. as field secretary for Indian work. His ministry at Green Lane will open next Sunday morning with the dedication of a new pipe organ.
