HOSPITAL AUXILIARY
BRANCH AT MOUNT EDEN About 40 women were present at the Alount Eden Borough Council Chambers in Valley Road yesterday afternoon, when a branch of the Auckland Hospital Auxiliary was formed. The Alayoress, Airs. E. H. Potter, who presided, introduced the speakers, and mentioned the good work that was being carried on in the Auckland Hospital by the auxiliary. A brief- outline of the scheme was given by Airs. A. Kidd, president of the auxiliary, and by Airs. C. E. Alaguire. It was decided to form a branch in Alount Eden with Airs. Potter as president and Airs. Wright as vice-presi-dent. Aliss Payne is to be organising secretary. The first meeting will be held at Mrs. Potter’s home in Valley Lioad next Tuesday at 2.30 p.m., when sub-committees will be formed. A meeting of representatives of the various charitable organisations will be held at the Town Hall on Tuesday, August 30, to make arrangements for a street collection in aid of the auxiliary, Airs. Maguire, convenor of the meeting, is confident that £I,OOO at least will be raised. The following committee was elected: —Alesdames Sheldon, Whitehead, Watson, Rodgers, Hooten, Carry, Morrison. Alorris, Alason. Rogerson, ! Snell, Lediard, Reveroux, Rayner and ! Misses Ball, Sargeant, Bandall and j Teape.
