“BEAUTY SHOULD BE MORE THAN SKIN DEEP”

A popular way to decorate a bathroom is to cover the walls with papier mache made to imitate small tiles. This is afterwards enamelled and is therefore washable. The “tiles” are frequently decorated with 2-inch wide strips of papier mache moulded in a pretty design and enamelled in colour.

Never was a proverb more apt than when applied to upholstery. Few people realise the vast difference between good and shoddy. It is the “inside” that counts, the framework, webbing, stuffing and springs. Cheap, flashy upholstery—made to sell —becomes shabby and ramshackle in a few months, but a high-grade job will last anything from 15 to 20 years, and at the end of that time can be given a new lease of life by an overhaul. For 32 years Mr. N. S. Benfell, of 2 Karori Street, Eden Terrace, has specialised in the manufacture of sound upholstered suites. Frames are constructed entirely of matured .kauri and the finest materials procurable are used throughout. Moreover, having no high rents to pay, Mr. Benfell can sell at genuine “Factory-to-You” prices. Customers can have their own designs made up if desired and can call at any time and see that their orders, both in material and workmanship, are scrupulously fulfilled. Ring Phone 42-513 for appointments.
